Supergiant Games' Hades 2 is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on April 14, 2026, as confirmed during the Xbox Partner Preview showcase on March 26. The game has been available in early access on PC since 2024, but console players have been waiting patiently for their turn.
What Is Hades 2?
Hades 2 is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2020 original, widely considered one of the best roguelite games ever made. The sequel shifts focus to Melinoe, the Princess of the Underworld and sister of Zagreus, as she battles through Greek mythology in pursuit of the Titan Chronos.
The game expands on the original's formula with a larger world, new weapon types, a deeper magic system, and a fresh cast of Olympian gods to interact with. The writing and character work — a hallmark of Supergiant's games — is as sharp as ever.
Should You Play It?
If you enjoyed the original Hades, this is an easy recommendation. If you're new to the series, both games stand on their own — but Hades 2 is the bigger, more ambitious experience. April 14 is shaping up to be a great day for roguelite fans.
